FEU Cavite Launches Alumni IndEx: Bridging Alumni Expertise with Student Development

FEU Cavite proudly launched its pioneering initiative, Alumni IndEx (Industry Expert), a program designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience. last September 24, 2025 at the HED Events Room. The Alumni IndEx (Industry Experts) Program aims to establish strong professional linkages between students and distinguished alumni, many of whom are now respected leaders and experts in their respective industries. Through this collaboration, FEU Cavite seeks to bring industry insights directly into the classroom, enriching academic discussions with practical knowledge, mentorship, and career guidance.

The launch event featured two esteemed guest speakers: Ms. Aida Imperio, Board Member and Head of the Education Committee of the FEU Nursing Alumni Foundation-U.S.A., and Dr. Violeta Lopez, a globally respected figure in nursing education and research. The Alumni IndEx sessions continued with its BS Information Technology and BS Business Administration editions, held on November 20 and 21, 2025, respectively.

The BSIT session featured Mr. Brian Jayson Umandap, Supervising IT Personnel at the Department of Transportation and proud FEU Cavite alumnus from BS Information Technology Batch 2015. During his talk, Mr. Umandap shared valuable insights into the ever-evolving IT landscape, stressing the need for adaptability, cybersecurity awareness, and lifelong learning to thrive in today’s tech-driven world.

He also underscored the versatility of Python programming, describing it as a powerful tool for automation, data analysis, and system development. Mr. Umandap encouraged students to master Python to remain competitive and future-ready in the industry.

Meanwhile, the BSBA session welcomed Mr. Christian Edwin M. Perlado, MBA, Academy Operations Coordinator at Hatch Technologies, Pte Ltd, and an alumnus from BSBA Marketing Management Batch 2019. Mr. Perlado’s talk, “Beyond the Classroom: Insights from an Alumnus,” focused on breaking barriers and preparing for the realities of the workplace. He began with a reality check, emphasizing that while receiving a Latin honor is important, it is not the sole ticket to success. Instead, employers prioritize factors such as a diploma, strong work ethics, compliance with government requirements, a growth-oriented attitude, valid identification, and personality.

Both sessions provided students with practical knowledge and real-world perspectives, reinforcing FEU Cavite’s commitment to producing future-ready graduates. The Alumni IndEx serves as a platform for mentorship, networking, and inspiration—bridging the gap between academic learning and industry demands.

FEU Cavite extends its heartfelt gratitude to our alumni experts for sharing their time and expertise, and for continuing to embody the Tamaraw spirit of excellence and leadership.
