FEU Cavite Nursing Students Honored in Capping, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremony (SY 2025-2026)

October 17, 2025 —In a heartfelt celebration of dedication and compassion, the FEU Cavite Department of Nursing held its 2nd Capping, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremony at the scenic Tagaytay View Park Hotel, embracing the theme:
“From Light to Life: FEU Cavite Nursing Students Upholding Fortitude, Excellence, Uprightness, and Compassion in the Journey of Nursing Care.”
This solemn and inspiring event marked a significant milestone in the lives of nursing students as they formally stepped into the noble vocation of healthcare. The ceremony symbolized their commitment to serve with empathy, integrity, and excellence—especially for those who are often overlooked: the least, the last, and the lost.
The presence of Dr. Ronald C. Vendero, the event’s esteemed guest speaker, added depth and inspiration to the occasion. His words of wisdom resonated with both students and faculty, reinforcing the values that define the nursing profession and encouraging future nurses to uphold the highest standards of care.
The Capping, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremony is more than a tradition—it is a rite of passage that signifies the transition of nursing students from academic learning to clinical practice. It marks the beginning of their professional identity formation, as they begin to embrace their roles as future healthcare providers guided by the values of fortitude, excellence, uprightness, and compassion. The lighting of candles symbolizes the light nurses bring into the lives of patients, especially during moments of vulnerability and need, reflecting their deep commitment to service. This ceremony also honors the discipline, resilience, and dedication students have demonstrated throughout their academic journey. Moreover, it reinforces the importance of mentorship, teamwork, and institutional support in shaping competent and compassionate nurses who are ready to serve their communities.
The event was also graced by FEU Cavite school officials, namely: Dr. Myrna P. Quinto (Executive Director), Dr. Ildefonso R. Fulgar III (College Dean), and Ms. Riza R. Lumagui, RN, MBA, MAN (Dean of Nursing), whose presence underscored the institution’s unwavering support for its nursing students.
The success of the ceremony was a testament to the dedication of the Department of Nursing faculty and support staff, whose teamwork and commitment continue to shape the future of nursing education at FEU Cavite.
As the candles were lit and pins were bestowed, the ceremony illuminated the path forward for these future nurses—one guided by Fortitude, Excellence, Uprightness, and Compassion.
