FEU Cavite sends Students and Teachers to Taiwan

International Student Immersion Program 2024 Delegates

April 14, 2024—The 2^nd Batch of FEU Cavite’s International Student Immersion Program (ISIP) delegates flew to its partner institution, I-Shou University located in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. The said immersion program provides various learning opportunities such as culture, arts, as well as science and technology. True to its 15^th Founding Anniversary Theme—”Forward and Beyond 15”—FEU Cavite continues to strengthen internationalization, one of its distinct programs that is extended not just to college students, but to basic education students as well as employees. FEU Cavite believes that activities and explorations outside of the country enrich an individual’s perspectives leading to the development of future leaders and nation builders.

The ISIP 2024 group is composed of ten (10) Senior High School students—namely: Louie John Hilario, Han Nah Kang, Louise Erikah Santos, Ashley Sumadsad, Janelle Lucille Urgel (Grade 11-STEM), Chareena Miranda (Grade 12-STEM), Stephanie Ann Mae Larosa, Shanley Marie Lim, Akia Shannen Malonzo, and Kristine Andrei Micaroz, (Grade 12-HUMSS)—and ten (10) college students, namely: Rose Mary Consuelo Abuan (2^nd Year, BA Communication), Juan Paolo Ferolino (2^nd Year, BS Tourism Management), Sean Carlos Sia (3^rd Year, BS Tourism Management), Marion Nicola Alcalde, Nelhy Jane Bermisa, Czerissa Deposoy, Christian James Gregorio, Ivan Stephen Lagangan, Alexza Irence Mangana, Ace Lundren Ruiz (2^nd Year, BS Psychology). The group is supervised by Dr. Ildefonso Fulgar III (Dean of the Higher Education Department), Mr. Jomar Redubla (Director of the Basic Education Department), Ms. Maria Samantha Flores (SHS Faculty, and Ms. Barbara Jane Isidoro-Umandap (Student Affairs Coordinator of the Basic Education Department).

The ten-day internationalization program, organized by the FEU Cavite External Affairs Office in collaboration with I-Shou University, will conclude on April 23, 2024.

The international partnership between FEU Cavite and I-Shou University began on October 2022 when Dr. Myrna P. Quinto (FEU Cavite External Affairs Office) welcomed Dr. Arthur Lee (Dean, Office of International & Cross-Strait Affairs, ISU) and Mr. Mark Lin (International Student Advisor/Regional Coordinator, ISU) to FEU Cavite. To seal the partnership, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on February 2023. On April 2023, Dr. Matthew M. Nepomuceno (FEU Cavite External Affairs Officer and former Director of the Senior High School Department) visited ISU to conduct an ocular visit as well as plan for the immersion program. The 1^st Batch of ISIP delegates—composed of ten junior and senior high schools and two teachers, Ms. Lorivi Sarvida and Ms. Gizelle Tagle—visited I-Shou University from April 30, 2023 to May 7, 2023.
