A Toast for the Brave: FEU Cavite Alumni Association’s 2nd Alumni Homecoming

The FEU Cavite Alumni Association conducted its 2nd Alumni Homecoming last April 12, 2025 at the FEU Cavite Dorm B Rooftop. The said event gathered Senior High School and College Alumni across different batches. The event was short yet memorable and productive.

During the 1st half of the program, Dr. Matthew M. Nepomuceno (External Affairs Officer) reported about the organizational structure of the FEUCAA. He also facilitated the election of three Additional Board of Trustees in order to complete the nine members of the said BOT. Prior to the event, there were only four, namely: Mr. Juan Emilio Aguinaldo Castañeda (President), Ms. Aumi Manansala (Vice President), Mr. Andre Lerma (Secreatary), and Ms. Leanette Faye Puno (Auditor).

Five Alumni were nominated by the attendees, namely: (1) Ms. Arah Nicole Masungsong (SHS HUMSS, Batch 2020); (2) Ms. Jenna Medina (SHS ABM, Batch 2019); (3) Mr. Brian Jayson Umandap (BS Information Technology, Batch 2015); (4) Ms. Jazzen del Mundo (SHS ABM, Batch 2019), and Ms. Gendelly Santos (BSBA Marketing Management, Batch 2017). An online voting was conducted via Google Forms and Ms. Masungsong, Ms. Medina, and Mr. Medina emerged as the top 3, making them eligilbe to be part of the nine-member FEU Cavite Alumni Association Board of Trustees

The program proceeded with the accomplishment report delivered by Ms. Aumi Manansala (Vice President) and Ms. Leanette Puno (Auditor). In less than 2 years, the FEUCAA was able to actively organize and facilitate various projects such as:

  1. Taking part in the ChariTree 2023 (LinGap Project)
  2. Organizing and facilitating the 1st Alumni Homecoming: Concert for a Cause (February 17, 2024)
  3. Installing Vending Machines at the BED and HED buildings (November 6, 2024)
  4. Taking part in the ChariTree 2024 (Donation to Persons Deprived of Liberty at the Silang BJMP)
  5. Organizing and facilitating the 2nd Alumni Homecoming: A Toast for the Brave (April 12, 2025)

The 2nd part of the program focused on the Alumni Excellence Awards. This is the first time that FEU Cavite organized an awarding ceremony to recognize and celebrate the various achievements and accomplishments of its Alumni.

The very first OUTSTANDING ALUMNI AWARD has been conferred to Mr. Juan Emilio Aguinaldo Castañeda (President of the FEUCAA & BSBA Marketing Management, Batch 2015)—for his excellence in business and entrepreneurship as well as his invaluable contributions to the Alumni Community—and to Ms. Aumi Manansala (Vice President, FEUCAA & BS Education major in English, Batch 2014)  for her excellence in the field of Education as well as her unwavering dedication and support to the Alumni Community.

Meanwhile, the following distinguished Alumni have been awarded for their recent achievements in their respective fields

1. Ms. Charlene Ilustrisimo (BSBA Marketing Management, Batch 2014) for her recent promotion as FEU Cavite’s Executive Assistant

2. Mr. Louis Miguel Ilustrisimo (BS Tourism Management, Batch 2014), Tourism Officer of the Municipality of Alfonso—Awarded as Grand Winner by the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) Pear Awards (2023)  – Wedding Destination of the Philippines Brochure (Best Brochure for Tourism Promotions); 1st Runner Up – Tablea Batirol; and Best Tourism Souvenir

3. Mr. Brian Jayson Umandap (BS Information Technology, Batch 2015), Senior IT Personnel of the Department of Transportation for completing the 2021 ASEAN ROK Human Resource Development Program on Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) scholarship program awarded by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Republic of Korea

Most importantly, the event provided an avenue for reconnecting as well as establishing new connections with fellow #FEUCavite Tamaraws over a sumptuous dinner prepared by the 3rd Year Hospitality Management students under the supervision of Ms. Pamela Michelle Rivera (College Chair of the College of Accountancy, Business, Management, and Technology).
