FEU Cavite faculty among CHED’s SMART NATION 4.0 Champions

Smart Nation 4.0

May 9, 2024– Prof. Glen Jose Y. Saño (Chair of the Department of Information Technology) and Mr. Kem Warren Ambojia (IT Department Faculty member) were awarded as Smart Nation Champions during the “Innovations in Teaching and Learning on Industry 4.0 and Smart Nation”—a project by the Commission on Higher Education Department (CHED)—culminating activity, held at the Hotel Lucky Chinatown Grand Ballroom, Binondo, Manila.

Entries from different institutions all over the Philippines were nominated based on their technological qualification and ability to meet the objectives of the Smart Nation Project. FEU Cavite’s research entry entitled “Mapping the Path to Smart Nation 4.0 Philippines: Comparative Analysis of IT Capstone Project Syllabi Across Universities” made it to the cut.

During pandemic, the champions were trained on the Innovations in Teaching and Learning on Industry 4.0 through Nanyang Polytechnic International (NYPi). After the pandemic, the team went to Singapore to benchmark and observe. The Champions were grouped into different sectors, namely: (1) Education, (2) Business, (3) Engineering, and (4) IT. Champions were tasked to cascade to other schools and universities the Smart Nation Project. They were also instructed to create toolkits and a research output that were presented during the Visayas Leg (at the University of Antique last April 25, 2024) as well as during the Mindanao Leg (at the Marco Hotel, Cagayan De Oro last May 3, 2024).

This commendation is a testament of FEU Cavite’s commitment and leadership in providing quality, relevant, and up-to-date academic services.
